Llandover Woods Greenspace is a small park tucked away in a residential area in Northern Seattle, with a couple of gravel trails taking you through dense forest and fern covered ground. The trails can be accessed from two separate streets, but are usually approached from 145th street, which has a small parking lot at the trailhead.
A whitewashed brick entrance set next to spacious homes made me question whether I had made a wrong turn. Alas, this is the entrance to the small parking area at Llandover Woods. I was hoping to time the weather for a nice sun break on this quick hike, but that didn’t really happen. While the sun peaked out momentarily, at least it wasn’t raining, and Llandover Woods Greenspace is filled with a lot of trees and greenery, making it a perfect escape during a dreary day.
Heading right at the first junction, I contemplated taking another right for the trail down to Sherwood road, but opted to stick on the loop as I didn’t have long between work meetings. It was amazing how many ferns covered the forest floor - I want to know what they are feeding these things!
I completed the loop and then made my way back up the trail, catching a glimpse of Puget Sound towards the end.
It's a short trail in a small park, but the area is very cool. Nice peaceful place to get out for a quick walk.
